What is the difference between a demat account & a trading account?
Demat account is like bank’s saving account, demat account is used only for depositing shares. We use trading account to buy and sell shares on stock exchanges.
I would like to trade only in F&O, do I still need to open a demat account?
Demat account is not required for trading in futures and options only.
I do only intraday trades, do I still need to open a demat account?
If you are trading in equity segment, it is mandatory to have a DP demat account. If you are trading only in F&O, demat account is not required.
What are the mandatory information to be filled in the form?
Your Name, Address, Email id, PAN number, Contact number, Bank a/c details & Segments in which you want to trade. Please follow the link for a sample filled form and form filling instructions.
Why do I have to sign at so many places in your account opening form?

How much time does it take to open a trading account with you?
If all your documents are proper as per the KYC norms, it normally takes 3 working days after receiving your account opening form.
Will I get any confirmation when you receive my account opening form?
Once we receive your Account opening form, you’ll get a account verification call from our side.
Can I operate a joint account on “either or survivor” basis just like a bank account?
According to SEBI regulations, a trading account cannot be operated as a joint account.
