Trade to Trade settlement is a segment where shares can be traded only for compulsory delivery basis. It means Trade to Trade shares cannot be traded on intraday. Each share purchased/sold which are parts of this segment need to be taken delivery by paying full amount. The settlement of scrips available in this segment is done on a trade for trade basis and no netting off is allowed for the day.

For example:- In Normal rolling settlement, one can trade stocks intraday (One can buy and sell a security on the same day).

Suppose you buy 1,000 shares of SUZLON at Rs.25 per share and sold these 1,000 shares for Rs.30 per on the same day (before the close of trading). You have gained Rs.5 per share (less brokerage/Other Expenses). This is the amount you will receive from your broker in the normal rolling settlement system.

But, if the same stock is under trade-for-trade segment, you will have to pay Rs.25,000 to take delivery of the shares you bought. Similarly, the quantity you have sold will have to be presented for delivery in Demat A/C. The Trade-for-Trade segment considers each transaction individually.

    Hello Sir,
I place order of Biofile todya which is of T2T segment share.
The order status is pending but the amount is deducted from my account.
If the order is pending how the amount is deducted from my bank account and when will I get the amount back?

    1. TradeSmart

      Hello Grace,
Currently, we are using the Risk Management Rules of Refinitive (formerly known as Thomson Reuters) wherein the system blocks the trading limit as soon as the order is validated and sent to the Exchange even if it is open state. The same is done to ensure the betterment of risk management measures and to keep a tracking of trading balance. The trading limit gets released when the order is cancelled by the user.

If you have purchased shares on 20th April, then you shall receive by 22nd April by exchange. If you want to sell on 22nd itself then it is advisable to check with your broker whether shares are received to avoid short delivery of shares. Which I sold, then I bought it back on the same day.
Stocks are not reflecting in my account why?

    1. Trade Smart Online

      Hi Himanshu,
If you sold some shares and if you buy the same share on the same day then it is considered as intraday. In case of intraday transactions you can only see the net profit or loss added to your ledger. You will not get the shares.
Please note if the stock is categorized as Trade to Trade then you cannot sell the shares if you do not have the delivery in your demat account, as mentioned in the above article.
