In the traditional calendar, a ‘Muhurat’ is a time during the day that is considered to be the most auspicious time. On the occasion of Diwali, stock exchanges hold a special symbolic trading session known as Muhurat trading. Inventors have been practicing share market Muhurat trading for centuries. It is an old notion that trading during Muhurat trading will bring a trader or investor wealth and prosperity for the entire year. The majority of traders buy stocks during this session, which takes place largely in the evening.

Why is Diwali special for Indian Investors?

Stock trading on this day has been a long-standing symbolic rite in the trading community for more than half a century. Traders eagerly wait for the day of Diwali because they believe that exchanging tokens on this day is a good omen since it honors Goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of riches and prosperity, for her favors throughout the Samvat year and that’s why Diwali has Muhurat trading. Investors and stockbrokers seek blessings from Laxmi and Ganesh before the traditional trading session.

During this trading, along with gold and silver, people also invest in mutual funds.
